Projects Engineering

Service 1:  Our CORE BUSINESS is Projects Engineering with focus on Rotating Equipment.

ETEQ supports the  End users (Plant owners) to get the best from their main Engineering/ Procurement Support/ Construction and Commissioning Managing Contractor, specifically for Rotating Equipment and related auxiliaries.

ETEQ also works in partnership with EPCM contractors.

Optimum equipment selection, fit for the required process duty is ETEQ’s forte. Before that process duty and project specifications are reviewed and  their validity is ensured.

ETEQ ensures integration of main Equipment, auxiliaries and related systems (capacity control, surge control etc.).

Ensuring optimum quality of PO (Purchase Order) Technical Content including final (order) specifications, finally agreed deviations/ clarifications, including Capital Spares (as required), including agreed special tools, and agreed commissioning spares.

Participation to ensure smooth interfacing with other disciplines to ensure that critical issues are identified where more than 1 discipline is involved and the issues are resolved and recorded for Technical Assurance.

Review/ Approval of critical Drawings/ Documents/ Manuals. Value added support for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).

ETEQ adds value to the often neglected interface, i.e., handover from projects to operations/ maintenance. We ensure this during Design/ Manufacturing/ Consturction/ Commossiong and Start-up phases. This includes all fuctional tests that need to be carried out during normal operation.

ETEQ undertakes Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), witness inspection as part of projects engineering or as an independant activity.

Witness inspection of premium rotating equipment such as Compressor, Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine, and Premium Electric Motor.

Mechanical Running Test/ Performance Test and String tests.

The FAT is an essential step in the process of commissioning a new equipment at green-field or brown-field plant. FATs are typically conducted at the manufacturer’s shop.

ETEQ’s team members have  rich experience in witnessing, reviewing and approving the FATs in the capacity of an approving third party.

On several occasions, key issues were identified and corrected at the manufacturere’s shop avoiding expensive delays at the actual site.

ETEQ’s team is well versed with the test hook-up requirements and the calculations done to estimate and compare the test results with required performance.

ETEQ’s professionals will ensure that following benefits are achieved.

  • Ensuring that the equipment meets the customer’s needs, by reviewing test method, metrics for mechanical condition as well as process parameters and calculated performace.
  • Identifying any problems with the equipment before it is installed at the customer’s site
  • Avoiding costly mistakes and delays

ETEQ’s  professionals can also mentor/ coach young engineers from client’s team, with on-the-job training (OJT) while witnessing and approving/ reporting the outcome of the FATs.
